"Guide to Vegas Buffets" @ moondogi.com

UMMMM ... Yummy, the Vegas Buffets!!! Stay tuned, but for quick reference, the BBQ ribs at Monte Carlo are among the best I have ever tasted! (sorry Texas), and if you are are inclined for seafood, both the Rio and Bellagio have incredible Buffets with Crab, Fish, and all else you could expect!!! The Treasure Island Buffet is truly a "tresure," and the $13.95 buffet at Harrah's is suprisingly good being one of our favorites. AVOID the buffet at the Mirage, long line and disappointing food -- great pool and place to stay; but two rules about the Mirage -- don't eat there, and do not gamble there!!!

Basically, for buffets; if you want to spend a lot of cash and really enjoy yourself go to Rio or Bellagio. If you are kinda on a budget, but want quality go to Monte Carlo or Harrahs. Manadalay Bay is too far South on the Strip to go eat at unless you are going to be hanging out there at some point, or unless you are staying there. Other good eating notes are for the Forum Shopping area of Ceasars' -- many nice restraunts tucked away inside. Big price tags, but very good. This is also where the Planet Hollywood is located in Vegas. Hard Rock Cafe is located 1 mile off of the Strip adjacent to the Hotel and Casino. DO NOT try to walk to Hard Rock from the Strip, (unless you are a glutton for punishment -- bite the bullet, take a taxi, or drive).

Other buffets that are "typical" on the strip can be found at any of the major casinos. The Venitian and Paris are said to be good; the Aladdin just re-opened in the summer of 2000; it is sort of a bust, but the food may worth a try! If you are downtown, the only place I would ever personally eat is at the Golden Nuggett. I would supress my appetite and wait to get back to the Strip though. Eat well!!!! ;)
